Chloros Inc. Takes Over Crop Image Analysis Business from Nileworks
- Supporting the Evolution of Crops through AI-Based Visual Intelligence -
Tokyo, Japan – November 11, 2025 - Chloros Inc. (Head Office: Suginami-ku, Tokyo; CEO: Mitsutoshi Aizawa; hereinafter “Chloros”) has officially taken over the Crop Image Analysis Business from Nileworks Inc. as of October 31, 2025, and has newly launched operations under its own management.
Going forward, Chloros will focus on AI-based crop recognition to accelerate innovation in crop breeding, agrochemical development, and cultivation practices through collaboration with research institutes and private companies.

About the Crop Image Analysis Business
This business enables quantitative, high-precision, and high-speed testing and evaluation in crop breeding and agrochemical development through Chloros’s proprietary close-range imaging technology and image analysis AI. In crop breeding, the technology helps automate and streamline the evaluation of pest resistance and environmental tolerance - tasks that have traditionally relied on human visual inspection - significantly shortening the breeding cycle, which typically takes about ten years from initial crossbreeding to variety registration.
The technology has already been adopted by public research institutions for rice variety evaluation, as well as by several domestic and international agrochemical and seed companies. In addition to R&D applications, Chloros also provides yield prediction tools for strawberry growers, enabling highly accurate forecasts of harvest timing and yield through automatic detection of fruit maturity.

Image Sensing and Analysis Technologies
Chloros has developed proprietary software that enables autonomous flight and close-range imaging at altitudes as low as one meter. This allows for the detection of pests and diseases as small as 1–2 cm, as well as precise growth stage analysis.
In addition, Chloros optimizes AI models for specific applications—such as "crop detection" and "pest and disease recognition"—with high accuracy and computational efficiency. This achieves a balance between AI performance, development speed, and cost-effectiveness, earning strong evaluations from existing clients.
